> The Saulnois area

Spreading over part of the Natural Regional Park in Lorraine, The Saulnois area is, as its name indicates, the land of salt. Salty sources made it wealthy until the end of the Monarchy.

The heritage in Marsal and Vic-sur-Seille testifies to this period as well. It is an area of lakes, where the Seille and the Saulnois flow through; this enables us to discover a wilder Moselle with preserved fauna and flora, particularly on the edge of the domain of Lindre. It requires a more intimate approach and the visitor who takes time to watch will penetrate the authenticity of a slightly coloured soil, like the famous light dark by Georges de La Tour, who was from Saulnois.
