''Small Steps for Man'', an exhibition at the Mining Museum in Petite-Rosselle
5 December 2008 to 30 November 2010
Experience the adventure of science and technology live The inventiveness of scientists, ingenuity of Leonardo da Vinci, boldness of Darwin, brilliance of Newton, excitement of aviation and the first steps on the moon are some of themes in "Small Steps for Man", an exhibition at the Mine, the Carreau Wendel Museum. The 1,000 sq m show takes a fun, educational and critical approach to the scientific and technological breakthroughs that have marked the history of science. Many décors and models, including flying machines, an igloo, a Saturn rocket, a moon buggy and the recreation of a 19th-century lab take visitors on the adventure of science and progress. This astonishing journey can be combined with a visit to France's biggest mine. The museum is open every day except Monday from 10 am to 6 pm. Guided tour on request. Adults €7 - Children (6 to 18 years) €3
