Big Cherry Plum
Festival in Metz
21 to 28 August 2011
Metz becomes the cherry plum capital in August. In late summer food-lovers enjoy the traditional Cherry Plum Festivals, which have been attracting thousands of visitors since 1947 and brilliantly close all of Metz’s summer events. Like every year, the Cherry Plum Festivals will start with the election of the Queen and her runners-up on 21 August.

The Cherry Plum Week that will follow promises to be packed with cultural events, including concerts, street performances, free shows, fireworks displays, big dances at night and a procession of floral floats, that will invite children and grown-ups to fully enjoy the merrymaking. This is a delicious opportunity to discover Metz, capital of the little yellow plum.

Food-lovers can savour this golden fruit, the symbol of Lorraine, at Moselle restaurants.

“Les Inattendus” Festival at Malbrouck Castle in Manderen

6 and 7 August 2011
Get off the beaten track. “Les Inattendus de Malbrouck” shakes up your preconceived ideas and takes a fresh look at street and circus arts.
