This year the Sarreguemines Carnival’s theme will be cabaret. The festivities will take place from 26 January to 6 February and the International Cavalcade on 24 February. Want to join an authentic, colourful celebration? Then take part in the region’s biggest carnival in Sarreguemines! Rhenish traditions influenced the carnival, which takes place every year during the week before Mardi Gras and always follows the same ritual with the princely couple, Kappensitzung, great Cavalcade and masked balls (Balla-Balla), ending with the Prince’s sentencing on Ash Wednesday. The festivities last over 10 days in the town’s streets and indoor venues.
