The Moselle General Council presents “Mercury & Co.: Worship and Religion in a Roman House”, a five-month show at Bliesbruck-Reinheim European Archaeological Park that introduces you to a Roman family’s religious practices through many objects, statues and painted décors.
The show focuses on Mercury, who was very popular with the Gallo-Romans, but also features other deities, notably those who protected hearth and home. Offerings always accompanied prayers in order to ensure that the gods granted them health, wealth and love - goals that are just as up-to-date today.
