- Always stay on marked trails. Do not take short-cuts in order to limit trampling vegetation and eroding soil, especially in sensitive areas (dunes and wetlands).
- Think of others and of the peacefulness of nature; you are not alone on the trails.
- Become acquainted with and respect the plant and wildlife, especially in sensitive areas. You will understand why they should be preserved.
- Leave no trace or rubbish behind. Bring it with you to the next rubbish bin.
- Do not make fires in nature (forests and scrubland).
- Do not damage fences and plants or disturb pets or livestock.
- Always remember to close fences and gates behind you.
- Keep dogs on a leash. They might inadvertently cause damage or fall victim to accidents.
- Do not drink water from streams; even if it looks clear, that does not mean it is potable.
- Inquire with local towns about hunting periods. Some trails can be dangerous.
- Obey the rules of nature reserves and national parks (dogs, the use of vehicles and picking plants may be prohibited).
